    Chickpeas are high in galacto-oligosaccharides and are a frequent trigger of bloating and pain in irritable bowel syndrome. Canned chickpeas rinsed thoroughly are better tolerated than home-cooked dried ones, because much of the GOS moves into the canning liquid.
